Get A COVID-19 Vaccination or Starve?

How the New Brunswick Government is testing the waters, and public reaction, to denying unvaccinated people access to food.

Hon. Dorothy Shephard, Minister of Health for New Brunswick gave the dog whistle and green lighted grocery stores to allow for the requirement of the vax pass in order to purchase food, December 3, 2021.

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs famously said 'we will find ways to make people want to get vaccinated'. I don't know how many wanted it, but many got it. Yes, many took a COVID-19 vaccination because they feared the virus, many took it because they were told they would protect those around them, many took it because they believed those in authority when they said this was the "key" to ending the pandemic. Many took it, not for health reasons, but to get their freedom back and then even more took it when their jobs were threatened and they had to make a choice between the vaccine and being able to pay their bills.

Now the unvaccinated are being told to choose between vaccination or food,. The green light was given to grocery retailers to require a vax pass by Minister Shephard during yesterday's press conference. If you think that's an exaggeration please keep reading.

Yes, the New Brunswick Government is testing public reaction to denying unvaccinated people access to grocery stores. They don't so much care about the opinion of the unvaccinated, they never have. They want to see how the vaccinated population will react without making it official policy, yet.

But they will make it official policy if nothing is done to stop it and everyone, vaccinated or not, should be standing up against that.

Why the vaccinated population should be concerned.

Because you're not always going to be considered 'fully vaccinated'.

We see that around the world, Israel, the US and UK just to name a few, have made it policy that six months after your last shot you are no longer considered fully vaccinated. Not only have these countries made this policy, but some have shut off vax passes for those who didn't rush out to get a booster.

Many people who have taken the vaccination are ok with getting a booster likening it to the annual flu shot, but every six months? For the next 4-5 years? Yes, the Canadian Government has purchased 11.4 doses per inhabitant, do the math.

Where is your red line?

At what point will you say 'enough'? We're almost two years into this pandemic with no end in sight with the goal posts constantly shifting and freedoms being stripped more and more each day. If the purchased doses mean anything, we're looking towards at least 4 more years. Are you willing to do this another 2-4 years? Is it the fact that the government just threatened to starve your fellow New Brunswickers? If that doesn't bother you, is it because you have your two shots and your 'freedom'? Wait for it.

Are you ok with having friends and family denied access to food?

This is a question many people need to contemplate. You see, having access to food threatened is not surprising to us, we predicted this months ago. The test will be how many of our family and friends will now stand up for us. That's right, we have noticed the lack of caring or action from those who 'love' us and we're really watching now. The government told you to turn us away and sadly, many did for a personal medical choice about a vaccine that doesn't actually stop transmission.

So far, most of us have waited patiently for that to change, but I'm sorry to say that for many of us, this will be a point of no return.

At some point over the next few months or years, a decision of the government is going to affect you. You've already proven that if threatened, you will do exactly what they say. I get it, right now this doesn't affect you... but it will. By then, it will be too late. Feel free to laugh this off, make it part of your next punch line about the loons, anti-vaxxers, tinfoil hat wearers and conspiracy theorists. Let me ask you this; when have we been wrong?

Now is the time to stand up and tell this government that this is unacceptable, all of it. Do it now because later we'll be too far down the path. The winter plan they announced yesterday is in effect until spring. These measures are not ridding us of this virus, in fact it seems to only be getting worse. It's time to take back our lives, our freedom and get rid of the 'new normal'.
